Gamle Bybro
Gamle Bybro ("The Old Town Bridge") was built in 1681, as an access road to the city from Kristiansten Fortress. It goes across the river Nidelven from the city to an area called Bakklandet. It was originally built in wood, and has gone through several changes over the years. The bridge we see today was built in 1861 by city engineer Carl Adolf Dahl, and in the mid 1900's the structure of the bridge was replaced by concrete.
