Winter in Trondheim I

(Click on the photo to view a larger version. Pulse la foto para ver una versión más grande.)

All schools in Trondheim are closed this week to give students a winter holiday, and while some people heads to southern Europe and a warmer climate, some head for the mountains. If you have seen some of my previous photos, you might have noticed they grey sky. Again and again. Yesterday, for the first time in 2006, we could see a clear blue sky, and even though the sun didn't keep us warm, it was there. And for most people, that was enough. This week the temperatures have hit a new record low for the city this year, as low as -20°C (-4°F) at the lowest (at night), making it the coldest night in Trondheim in 44 years. This photo was taken at Gråkallen, the highest point in Trondheim, at 552 meters (1811 feet) above sea level, a few kilometers from the city center.

Very nice shot! Even if the sun doesn't warm you up yet, it still lifts up the spirit, doesn't it?
